Predominantly Tempranillo with Garnacha and Mazuelo in the blend, Viña Cubillo is one of Lopez de Heredia’s vineyards in the Rioja Alta region of Rioja that is 4 km away from the winery. At over 400 metres of altitude and 40 year old+ vines, with complex soils this wine easily exceeds its current Crianza status. Expect red cherries, liquorice and leather notes as well as dried cranberry and herbs. Tannins are supple and powdery and the acidity is bright.
