2012 Txakoli Arri, Rezabal, DO Getariako Txakolina, Basque Country
Txakoli is a vibrant, spritzy wine from the Basque region on the northern coast of Spain. Traditionally served with their rich and varied seafood dishes, it should be poured into the glass from a height, allowing the gas to disperse and the aromatic character to emerge. This is example from one of the best producers in the region is made from 80% Hondarribi Zuri and 20% Hondarribi Beltza and is a classic Txakoli. Bright citrus and boxwood notes come through on the palate, alongside more subtle seasalt and mineral characters. Long on the finish, and highly refreshing.
