2011 Pintia, Vega-Sicilia, Toro

Receiving 94 points from The Wine Advocate's Luiz Guttierez, this is a dark fruited Pintia beautifully textured with notes of loganberry and enchanting complexity. Elegant, pure and flowing, there is real intensity of small-berry fruit and a lovely balance of fine-grained tannins. A truly characterful wine.

2011 Pintia, Vega-Sicilia, Toro

Vega Sicilia is to Spain what the First Growths are to France. Its story is well known - a Spanish winemaker trained in Bordeaux and returned to his homeland with a few vines to blend with the local Tempranillo. The flagship wine, Unico, marks the first time Bordeaux varieties were used in Ribera del Duero. They also produce a second wine, Valbuena 5°, so-called because it’s kept in the cellar for 5 years before release, and stablemates Pintia and Alion.
