This cuvée is dedicated to the Rheinhessen winemaker Hans Oliver Spanier who worked tirelessly with Alexander to taste through the unnamed barrels and quality assess them. This wine was originally destined for a basic cuvée, until Hans realised its potential and premium quality. Classic bacon fat and smoky spice notes resonate from the glass, with dark cherry and ripe red berry fruits providing purity and lift. There is a density and a concentration that is beautifully balanced with a crisp acidity and chalky tannins.
