2018 Höllenpfad im Mühlenberg Riesling Grosses Gewächs, Dönnhoff, Nahe

From the old part of the vineyard. Nice passion fruit nose, touch of mango, too. Quite ripe and exotic on the nose, freshly cut ginger. Plenty of drive and lovely richness to the fruit, lots of spice on the finish, and a very fine, silky finish. Nice extract on the finish.

Weingut Dönnhoff

Dönnhoff are based in the Nahe region of Germany, noted for its diverse soils, which are beautifully expressed in Dönnhoff’s single vineyard wines. The family winery has existed since the mid-18th century, but has reached its highest level under Helmut Dönnhoff, at the helm since 1971. Dönnhoff’s wines bear the standard for the Nahe, so often overshadowed by Mosel and Rheingau.
