2018 Hermannshöhle Riesling Grosses Gewächs, Dönnhoff, Nahe

Cornerstone of the estate. Quite closed and backwards. Very pure lemon oil on the nose, but also with nectarine. Layered, complex and a touch sour, structured and saline and long. Remarkable energy on the finish, with plenty of fresh fruit, and almost a strawberry blossom character. So upright and profound: towering and aristocratic. Incredible poise.
