2014 Gelblack Feinherb, Schloss Johannisberg, Rheingau
Food-friendly Feinherb is a relative newcomer to the German wine scene, replacing halbtrocken as the off-dry option. The Gelblack is essentially the same wine as the Silberlack Grosses Gewächs but with 5% spätlese added, bringing extra stone fruit richness to temper the pithy grapefruit and crushed rock mineral notes. Favoured by sommeliers from China Tang to L'Atelier De Joel Robuchon.
