2013 Hermannshöhle Riesling Dry Grosses Gewächs, Dönnhoff, Nahe

It is said that Hermannshohle is one of, if not the best, ‘Grand Cru’ site in the region. A combination of black slate, igneous rock and limestone soils make up this small site, which will offer a veritable smorgasbord of aromas and flavours: Pineapple, nectarine, mango, crushed pebbles, grapefruit pith and so much more. A wine marked out by its structure, Helmut commented that, “the concentration was not of alcohol but of minerality”.
