Hermannshohle is 100% slate and considered to be the best rated vineyard of all Helmut’s 25 hectares. There is an almost salty-mineral quality on the nose, alongside fresh lemons and grapefruit. Though very delicate indeed, there is a lovely depth to this wine and layers of flavour, giving it an underlying power. Very long, it dances across the palate to rapturous effect.
