1996 Brut, Krug

A beautiful wine from a great vintage, this is a well-balanced, combining great power with great finesse. Exuberant fruit and toast on the nose and a delicate mousse in the glass. The palate is complex and layered, with notes of brioche and ripe apple, as well just a hint of cinnamon spice and delicate florality.

Since the house was established by Joseph Krug in 1843, Krug has become synonymous with the very finest Champagne. Now headed by Olivier, the sixth generation of the family, the wines are known for their power, elegance and ageworthiness.

Their Grande Cuvée sets the standard for Non-vintage Champagnes and single vineyard offerings such as Clos de Mesnil are among the most sought-after wines in the world.
