Vilmart's Blanc de Noirs is a brand new wine launched for the first time for the 2017 vintage. It is from the same Les Blanches Voies ungrafted old vines vineyard where their top Blanc de Blancs comes from. This spent 10 months in small oak barrels, 7 years on the lees and another 1.5 years ageing under cork before release. This has a gorgeous complex nose of sweet peaches, passionfruit, cranberry and hazelnut and on the palate, there's lots of depth and soft texture but such precision, tension and vibrancy, finishing very elegantly. An interesting and unique wine in the Vilmart range, although only 2,900 bottles were produced.
