2004 Brut, Pol Roger

A blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, this is a deliciously balanced and refined Champagne. On the nose, appealing toasty characters meld with white and yellow stone fruits and delicate white flowers. Silky-textured on the palate, with a very fine mousse, this is elegance itself. The palate is bright, fresh and appealing, with mouth-watering acidity, yet with layers of ripe orchard fruit, subtle soft spice and brioche tones underneath. Long and very fine on the finish, this is very approachable now, but will age beautifully.
