2020 La Côte, Château de la Négly, La Clape, Languedoc

Château La Négly is a terrific estate in the Languedoc. Their single vineyard cuvées often claim the spotlight, but you shouldn’t miss their fantastic Carignan blend, at a very friendly price. It’s packed with kirsch, liquorice, black pepper and cassis. The Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre in the blend give it nice silky tannins and a fresh bite. It is generous, open, and slips down a treat.
