Schiste, from a blend of Jacquère, Roussanne, Mondeuse Blanche, and Pinot Gris, is a wine with beautiful tension from this super-star Savoie domaine. It comes from the vineyards that overlook Cevins in the Savoie's Alpine foothills. It benefits from decanting, and could do with a year or two in bottle. Notes of thyme and anise, with a core of citrus fruit, give way to a long and stony finish.
