2019 Quincy Cuvée Gatebourse, Domaines Tatin

This was our top pick from the domaine’s four single vineyard wines. It comes from old vines planted on sandy gravel soils. It is always the first site to be picked, and in 2020 it captures the vibrant acidity and freshness of the vintage. The nose has subtle melon and green apple fruit, whilst the palate has beautiful energy, with crisp weight.

Domaine du Tremblay (Tatin)

An estate that’s been in the Tatin family (of Tarte fame) since 1872, Jean Tatin and Chantelle Wilk have been at the helm since the late 1980s. Always thinking, Jean’s latest project is to produce tiny quantities from four different sites in Quincy, bottling them individually for a comparison of Quincy’s varied terroirs. Meanwhile his Vin Noble, a Lay & Wheeler favourite, is really impressive in 2015: refreshing and concentrated, it’s the perfect summer wine.
