Lovely energy, with a touch of blackcurrant leaf, nice fruit and a hint of peppery spice. It’s complex, mineral and very well balanced. The energy and purity are very impressive. And it finishes so cleanly, you’ll need another glass.

Domaine du Tremblay (Tatin)

An estate that’s been in the Tatin family (of Tarte fame) since 1872, Jean Tatin and Chantelle Wilk have been at the helm since the late 1980s. Always thinking, Jean’s latest project is to produce tiny quantities from four different sites in Quincy, bottling them individually for a comparison of Quincy’s varied terroirs. Meanwhile his Vin Noble, a Lay & Wheeler favourite, is really impressive in 2015: refreshing and concentrated, it’s the perfect summer wine.
