2016 Vouvray Renaissance Sec, Sébastien Brunet

2016 Vouvray Renaissance Sec, Sébastien Brunet

One of the up-and-coming stars of Vouvray has crafted another winner in 2016. Made from five separate parcels of the same terroir, called La Folie (or “madness”) this is concentrated, ripe and very pure. With clean fruit and just the right balance of sweetness and bitterness, it's a wonderful expression of dry Vouvray, and a wine with great potential.

Domaine Sébastien Brunet

Having inherited his vines after the death of his father in 2006, Sébastien Brunet farms his domaine organically without seeking official certification. Dynamic and incredibly talented, he's already held in high-regard by his peers as one of Vouvray’s top producers. The Renaissance is our favourite of his wines: a dry Vouvray from forty to fifty year-old vines, and is fermented in new and old large oak barrels. The level of concentration and freshness that his wines retain is remarkable.
