2010 Pouilly-Fumé Silex, Didier Dagueneau

From a supreme single vineyard enclave just outside the cuverie in Saint Andelain, this wine is scented with an incredible array of herbal, floral, and citrus fruit notes. An edgy, pithy nature on the mid-palate, alongside the smoky pungency of crushed stones and iodine provide a distinctively mineral complexity. The multifaceted, silken finish is characteristically long and vibrant and indicates there is much more to come with some worthwhile bottle ageing.

2010 Pouilly-Fumé Silex, Didier Dagueneau
Didier Dagueneau

Before his untimely death in 2008, Didier Dagueneau was the “wild man of Pouilly”, on a mission to resurrect Pouilly-Fumé’s reputation for Sauvignon Blanc of the highest quality. His wines developed a cult following, and his son, Louis-Benjamin, is now following in his footsteps and continuing his legacy. In his hands, the wines are still incredibly expressive but have developed an extra layer of precision.
