2004 Riesling Grand Cru Brand K, Domaine Albert Boxler

2004 Riesling Grand Cru Brand K, Domaine Albert Boxler

From a specific parcel of 60-year-old Riesling vines from within the Grand Cru of Brand, known as Kirchberg, hence the ‘K’. Again the hue is relatively pale, the aromas really impress, bolder in nature than the Brand above, with a markedly more intense sense of minerality – terrifically pure and pronounced. Intense on the palate too, there is sensational depth to the fruit. Characters of green lime and ripe citrus meld with smoke, stoney mineral characters - all underscored by a terrific vibrant, almost steely acidity. Poised and refined, a very driven Riesling that captures a degree or two of greater intensity and complexity than the Brand Grand Cru above. A stunning wine with even greater potential for cellarage.
