2017 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de Mon Aïeul, Pierre Usseglio

Yields are low here, just 30 hectolitres from 6 hectares, vinified in demi-muids. 103 year old vines are the oldest, and then 80-85 year old. Really intense, but there’s nice crunchy fruit, strawberries, and good depth. Fine and juicy, with silky tannins and salinity.
