2015 Côte-Rôtie La Landonne, Réné Rostaing

Possibly the benchmark of the estate, this shows Syrah’s brooding, intense, powerful side. The tannins are considerable, but such is the ripeness and generosity of the vintage they simply coat the mouth like velvet. A long, structured and complex finish completes this tour de force.

Due to tiny quantities and high demand this wine is limited to 12 bottles per customer.

TASTING NOTES

No destemming, aged in demi-muid, a maximum of 10% new oak. Macerated herbs, intense berry fruit, some meat stock. Very full and intense, almost minty in its herbal register. Mouthcoating and powerful, but all ripe and in balance. This is really exciting to taste, it heightens all the senses. Large-framed but exceptionally pure and very long.
