2013 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Piedlong, Frédéric et Daniel Brunier

2013 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Piedlong, Frédéric et Daniel Brunier

Highly scored in the 2012 vintage, the 2013 Piedlong again offers fantastic value. Made with the same attention to detail as the other Brunier wines, the nose is full of fresh, ripe dark fruit alongside an enjoyable spiciness. With the freshness that characterises the 2013s in abundance, the palate is very well balanced, and offers superb potential. For the price this is fantastic Châteauneuf.

Tasting notes

The 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape Piedlong is the estate’s Grenache dominated cuvee that comes all from the rocky soils of the Piedlong lieu-dit. Vinified with plenty of stems and aged all in foudre, it offers lots of plum, blackberry and bouquet garni like characteristics in a medium to full-bodied, supple, sexy style. It has impressive sweetness of fruit and a forward, delicious style that will be ideal for drinking over the coming 7-8 years.
