Les Greffieux is produced from 50 year old vines that are situated at the foot of the Hermitage hill. It is a powerful and tannic wine, yet there is an elegance and quality to this wine, which makes it really easy to taste. The nose shows pure blackberry and liquorice notes, with a slight meaty character in the background. The palate is richly fruity, with extraordinary depth and concentration. Huge, but very fine tannins, this will need time to resolve, but will be a glorious wine.
