From 70+ year old Grenache vines, planted with a little Syrah, this is intense, textured and very long. There's a beautiful thread of acidity which balances that richness of flavour. Even's goal is to create balanced, characterful wines, and with this beautiful Grenache he's succeeded: were this from a better known appellation, it would be far more expensive.
