Robert Parker, 91-93 points: “The 2010 Côte Rôtie Seigneur de Maugiron reveals crisp acidity as well as lots of black raspberry, bacon fat, forest floor, licorice and Provencal garrigue-like notes. Deep, medium to full-bodied and rich, with terrific delineation as well as personality, it does not reveal any of the unevolved, slightly reduced character of many of the bigger 2010 Delas wines.”

With an impressive female winemaker, Claire Darnaud, at the helm since 2010 (though with experience there dating back to 1996), and considerable investment in the cellar to move to the historic town centre, the wines here are some of the more refined in the region. Careful never to use more than 40% new oak, Claire is a master of her craft.
