Named after the Roman name for the local town of Ampuis, this is a tremendously pretty wine and redolent with delicious, juicy and peppery fruit. The nose is elegant and fragrant, displaying fresh blackberries and raspberries and well-integrated and balanced oak. The palate is delicate and yet the tannins are tight, giving a lovely structure to the fine juice and fresh acidity. This all leads to a luscious finish that opens up with a touch of sweet spice on the length.
