2004 Sablet, Château du Trignon, Rhône

Sablet is one of the Côtes-du-Rhône Villages appellations, a step up from generic Côtes-du-Rhône. 2004 was an excellent vintage in the southern Rhône and this is a handsome Grenache / Syrah blend. In style, this is not unlike a mini-châteauneuf with rich berry fruit, cherries and warm, sweet spice.
