Vibrant, youthful purple appearance with a gamey, forest fruit accent on the nose. The palate shows ample ripe berry fruit, with admirable intensity and a pure, long, focused finish. This is a Coudelet, with a fabulous array of flavours encompassing deep dark cherry, leathery nuances and liquorice. More convincing than many lesser châteauneuf-du-pape - reflecting the superb quality achieved at Beaucastel in the vintage.
