2020 Moulin-à-Vent, Les Rouchaux, Louis Boillot

2020 Moulin-à-Vent, Les Rouchaux, Louis Boillot

Just a little whole bunch is used here, and it works brilliantly. The Gamay shows all the structure and sophistication of the Boillots’ Côte d’Or Pinots, but with the juicy, pretty, peppery texture of Beaujolais. It’s got gorgeous blueberry fruit, and fine-grained tannins, thanks to the excellent granitic terroir.

Tasting notes

The 2020 Moulin-à-Vent Les Rouchaux has a pretty violet and rose petal scented bouquet with more delineation and complexity than the Vieilles Vignes. The palate is sweet and fleshy on the entry with Morello cherries and orange sorbet, quite peppery towards the finish. This is a delicious and generous Moulin-à-Vent that should age well in bottle.
