2009 Mâcon Chardonnay Clos de la Crochette, Héritiers du Comte Lafon

Hailing from his acclaimed Côte de Beaune vineyards, Dominique Lafon’s venture into the Mâconnais has been an unqualified success. The vines are grown and harvested along biodynamic principles and the resultant wines have all the hallmarks that make Comte Lafon so famous. Ripe and appealing on the nose with some almost tropical notes, this Mâcon Chardonnay is nevertheless perfectly balanced. There is volume and richness on the palate, but this is offset by a fresh thread of acidity that runs along the palate and through to the very refreshing finish.
