Take the stress out of buying a gift, let them choose exactly what they want.
Bessin-Tremblay’s Valmur is tremendous value for money. It bursts with citrus and salty aromas. It is edgy, slightly reductive, telling you it will need some time. It’s a reserved grand cru, rather than a flamboyant one, but its still waters run deep.
A sample taken from all the barrels actually shows the wood more. Fresh lemon, fair weight of fruit and some subtlety on the nose, and evidently greater maturity on the palate with a slight softness, and much less evident acidity. Or at least the acidity is more hidden by the weight of the fruit. Drink from 2029-2035. Tasted Jun 2025.
