Didier has been making this single vineyard village Chablis since 2006. It sits near premier cru Vaucopins with a westerly exposition. The cool fruit here gives a flinty, mouthwatering expression. Rounder than the Vauclaire, with tension and intensity all the way to the impressive finish.
Vaudécorse occupies the next slope south of Vaucoupin. Here the vines came out very well without much damage. More lemon in the colour. The same tension, lemon and lime intensity, just a little more intensity than the village wine, good grip here once again. Drink from 2027-2030. Tasted Jun 2025.
The 2024 Chablis Vaudécorse has a well-defined bouquet with a slightly earthier personality than the Chablis Village. Damp moss and gladed pond notes emerge with time. The palate is fresh, taut, very crisp and malic in style with a dash of white pepper toward the finish. Again, this is quite old school for those who like some bitterness in their Chablis.
