Tasting notes

Vaussegros was the old spelling, which is why the first ‘S’ is pronounced. Pale lemon colour. Didier seems to have stolen all the coquilles from others because he has an exceptional amount in his wines this year. More salty than citrus. Much less flesh than usual but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Jun 2025.

The 2024 Chablis Vosgros 1er Cru has a tightly wound, finely delineated nose with lime, green apple and subtle pond scents. The palate is fresh and vibrant, with more bitter lemon than Picq's other cuvées. This has a very saline finish that calls out for some oysters.
