This comes from a blend of three parcels, which are picked and vinified separately. Samuel says these three parts contribute complexity, richness, and minerality to the blend. That’s a pretty good combination for a Chablis. It has an impressive depth of fruit with a satisfying, fleshy weight, and its persistent length is clean-cut and refreshing.
A blend of Samuel’s three excellent terroirs, Les Pargues, Cartes-Fontenottes, and Bas de Chapelot. Pale colour. A very classic nose, not too pungently marine, with a depth of fruit, clean clear cut white fruit with a real crispness to finish. The lees work is exemplary.
From Les Pargues, Les Cartes and Chapelot-Bas, the 2023 Chablis Grands Terroirs has a refreshing, quite minerally bouquet with hints of potpourri behind the citrus fruit. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry, and tightening in the middle. A steely, bitter lemon finish. Drink over 3-4 years.
