This comes from three parcels, which are spread across the top, middle, and bottom sections of the premier cru. It is straight and incisive, with a concentrated, saline flicker on the finish. There’s a nice balance between fruit and minerality in this premier cru.
Samuel has three plots, from bottom to top, with vine ages respectively of 85, 35 and 70 years. Pale clear lemon colour. Just a little spice on the nose, but not exotic. Very tightly wound, all white fruit with youthful bitterness. Hard to judge but I think this could become very exciting. Such purity.
