2014 Chablis 1er Cru Les Vaucopins, Domaine Long Depaquit

This vineyard lies south of Mont de Milieu on the right bank, Depaquit calling it their their ‘little Moutonne’, thanks to the fact that their vines lie right in the heart of the vineyard, with the same exposition and soil type as their famous monopole. Saline, peachy, with huge complexity and a long steely finish. This is great wine.

2014 Chablis 1er Cru Les Vaucopins, Domaine Long Depaquit
Albert Bichot (Clos Frantin and Long Depaquit)

Founded in 1791, this domaine’s château remains the most impressive in Chablis. Now owned by Beaune-based house Albert Bichot, and benefitting from the expertise of Technical Director Alain Serveau, this is a Chablis domaine on the rise to the top of the appellation. La Moutonne is the wine that the estate is best known for, a monopole in the heart of the Grands Crus, between Vaudésir and Les Preuses. It’s in a natural amphitheatre where the wines can reach stunning ripeness for the region.
