2011 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu, Samuel Billaud

Understatement is at the core of the 2011 Chablis Mont de Milieu. Citrus, pears, apples and whites flowers are some of the many notes that take shape in the glass. All the elements are nicely balanced. There is an attractive inner tension in the 2011 that suggests the wine will develop nicely throughout its life.

2011 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu, Samuel Billaud
Domaine Samuel Billaud

Samuel set out on his own, from the family domaine Billaud-Simon a number of years ago with a negociant business, and this super-talented winemaker goes from strength to strength. He recently acquired some of his own vineyards from his late uncle: fitting additions to his superb portfolio of wines. Samuel is a producer to follow in every vintage with his level of quality and value for money: he makes some of our favourite Chablis, and is now definitely dining at the village's top table.
