Take the stress out of buying a gift, let them choose exactly what they want.
There are many who consider Bachelet’s Blanchot-Dessus to be on a par with its grand cru neighbours, Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet and Le Montrachet. The vines were planted in 1927, and this old-vine wine has the presence and stature of its grand cru neighbours. Its shyness in youth will be transformed into majesty with age. Put it away for a few years to see what it can really do.

The 2024 Chassagne-Montrachet Blanchot-Dessus 1er Cru appears reserved on the nose and demands aeration. It almost reluctantly reveals scents of crushed limestone that entwine with the yellow plum and dandelion scents. The palate is suave and sophisticated, built around a crisp line of acidity. Beautiful notes of orange pith and freshly sliced pear with a touch of mango lead to a persistent and harmonious finish. Excellent.
Lively lemon with a green tint. The nose is discreet. The fruit in the mouth, however, is absolutely piercing, not too ripe but certainly not lacking in presence. White orchard fruit with a greener edge, and a very long finish. Staying in the mouth for an incredibly long time. These are the domaine’s oldest vines, planted in 1927 by Benoît and Jean-Baptiste’s great grandfather. This is the true heart of our domaine, says Benoît. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Oct 2025. 5 stars.
