2024 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets, Jean-Marc Pillot

2024 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets, Jean-Marc Pillot

The Pillot’s steep, stony limestone parcel produces a magnificent wine. It is intense on the nose with fresh pear and white flowers, followed by an opulent palate. It is layered and detailed with an exceptional texture. It is an excellent example of this regal site.

Tasting notes

The Jean-Marc Pillot vines are En Cailleret. The bouquet is not so immediately stony as some but with a clear weight of ripe white fruit. Almost some plums in this. I like the wine but find it a fraction less Caillerets today. Drink from 2029-2035. Tasted Oct 2025.
