This unique wine chez Javillier is a blend of the hillside vineyard Les Clous and Les Crotots, hence the blended name. Les Clous provides the body and drive, with Les Crotots, which sits just next to premier cru Poruzots, giving definition and zip. It has a lively pineapple hint coming through in 2024, and powerful grip on the palate. It shows beautiful weight and texture with impressive concentration of fruit and a mineral length.
A touch more colour, a little less immediate on the nose. Now some riper tendrils, A touch of sandalwood from the barrel, more flesh behind, even a little oaky aspect, middleweight plus, adequate acidity, and some length. This could yet become more of an old-style buttery Meursault. Tangy at the finish despite the flesh. Drink from 2028-2034. Tasted Nov 2025.
