2024 Meursault, Michel Lafarge

2024 Meursault, Michel Lafarge

New release

The Lafarge family’s parcels of Chardonnay lie on the Volnay side of Meursault, naturally. The vines are over 50 years old, and the wine shows lovely freshness and density of fruit.

Tasting notes

The 2024 Meursault Village includes the entire parcel this year as there is no "Vendage Sélectionée". There is fine delineation on the nose, again a little Puligny-like in style without the breadth you would obtain in a warmer vintage. The palate is taut and fresh, notes of dried honey and quince, a touch of bitterness on the finish but decent length. Worth seeking out.

Just one bottling this year. Fine pale lemon yellow. Plenty of fruit in its mellow style here. Lively and plush at the same time, good acidity behind the ripe apples. Medium length, livelier than the straight Meursault normally is. Drink from 2028-2032. Tasted Oct 2025.
