2024 Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières, Michel Bouzereau

New release

This is one of Meursault’s finest vineyards, shared amongst some of its greatest growers. It’s a clear step up in the Bouzereau line-up: textural, precise and enduring. Complexity abounds.

Tasting notes

The 2024 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru has a more generous bouquet than the Les Charmes-Dessus: yellow fruit, hints of walnut and sesame becoming more lanolin-like with aeration. Superb delineation. The palate is well balanced with a silver thread of acidity woven through the slightly peachy apricot tinged fruit. Good weight on the finish, this is an impressive follow-up to the 2023.

Pale lemon colour. The usual fractionally herbal tang to this Genevrières, medium bodied at first but deceptive in that the concentration becomes more evident further back. Less cream and more biscuit evident in the oak treatment here compared to Charmes. Perhaps a little more persistent as well. Drink from 2029-2034. Tasted Oct 2025.
