This well-positioned village parcel, just below Les Champs-Gains, certainly merits being singled out. The soil has lots of little limestone pebbles, and this wine is zippy and lively, with a pleasing volume of fruit in 2023. It’s a suitably impressive Chassagne from one of the most exciting growers here.

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Masures has a refined bouquet, fresh and finely delineated with petrichor, wet limestone scents and hints of orchard fruit. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a salty entry, and that oyster shell/marine influence continues toward the end. Enjoy this Chassagne over the next decade.
Mid lemon yellow. More reductive tension straight away, and then more than adequate flesh behind, a little citrus rind, very much more energy all the way through. Fine long mineral acidity, still on the lemon skins. Very satisfying. Drink from 2027-2032. Tasted Nov 2024.
