2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Macherelles, Jean-Claude Bachelet et Fils

2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Macherelles, Jean-Claude Bachelet et Fils

New release

The Bachelets have four parcels in this Premier Cru, the oldest of which were planted in 1927 and 1960. In total it represents around 0.5 hectares of vines easterly exposed on the mid-slope. In 2023 the Marcherelles is a stunning wine. Intense, dense and focused yet with an almost miraculous purity. Notes of grilled peach, white grapefruit and at its core, an unrelenting focus of mineral. One of the picks from the range this year.

Tasting notes

Mid lemon yellow. A little more warmth and substance compared to the village wine. White and yellow fruit, good acidity holds the tension, not the most character in the cellar. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Oct 2024.
