2023 Meursault Vendanges Sélectionnées, Michel Lafarge

2023 Meursault Vendanges Sélectionnées, Michel Lafarge

Cellar Circle Exclusive

Only in years of relative abundance and quality do the domaine make this cuvée which is a selection of fruit from only the oldest vines (70-75 years old). They sit just below Santenots-du-Milieu, and the wine shows an even greater level of intensity and length than the already impressive village Meursault with aromas of jasmine, white grapefruit, with a breath of ocean spray on the finish.

Tasting notes

The 2023 Meursault Vendanges Selectionnées has more intensity on the nose compared to the regular cuvée with yellow flowers, pine resin and light spicy scents. The palate has lovely texture with orange pith, white pepper and just a touch of nougat, finishing quite vibrant with impressive length. This is a delightful Meursault.

Old vines, 70-75 years, slightly higher on the slope. A similar lemon colour but a cleaner, finer nose, with more ample orchard fruit filling the mouth. Better acidity as well. Worth the upgrade and I like the length of the finish. Keeps coming back. Drink from 2028-2035. Tasted Dec 2024.
