Folatières’ place in the firmament of truly great Burgundian terroirs has been assured for many years. This 2023 is balanced and driven, with a dramatic dry extract matched by fresh acidity and a wonderful energy on the length. It’s only made in tiny quantities. Keep this in the cellar for a few years.

Mid lemon yellow. Discreet nose, though with a good sense of fruit to follow. There are broad shoulders here with a good physique behind. Attractive, concentrated white fruit, a mineral feeling within the acidity, well-judged oak, and plenty of depth. Give it time. Drink from 2028-2034. Tasted Oct 2024.
