2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Macherelles, Domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet et Fils

2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Macherelles, Domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet et Fils

The Bachelets have four parcels in this premier cru, the oldest of which were planted in 1927 and 1960. It carries the superb concentration of old-vine fruit, with juicy nectarine freshness. On the nose there is the scent of freshly cut spring flowers. The wine is harmonious and balanced, with depth and precision.

Tasting notes

The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Macherelles 1er Cru presents a finely tuned nose of citrus lemon, peach skin and touches of candle wax and crushed stone. The palate is clean and precise on the entry, then very smooth and harmonious, offering seductive peachy, mango notes. Not amazingly complex on the finish, yet there is fine persistence and sensibility to this Chassagne.
