2019 Bourgogne Blanc Les Sétilles, Olivier Leflaive Frères

There’s a good reason this is one of the most popular wines on our list. It captures everything you’d want from a classic Bourgogne Blanc and is keenly priced. The 2019 is 55% down in volume after some parcels were frosted in early April. Most of the fruit comes from the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, Puligny Montrachet, and Meursault, and the character of the 2019 is floral, fine, and energetic, with superb length for a wine of this level. It is a brilliant ambassador wine for the poised, flavourful, and sophisticated style of the wines in the Olivier Leflaive stable.

2019 Bourgogne Blanc Les Sétilles, Olivier Leflaive Frères
Olivier Leflaive

One of Burgundy’s most recognisable names, Olivier Leflaive produces some of the Côte de Beaune’s finest whites from a mixture of domaine-owned vineyards and bought-in grapes. Olivier founded the company in 1984, and it has grown in quality and prestige ever since. With 17 hectares of their own vineyards in some of the region’s most prized plots, and using only the very best sources from their bought grapes and must, the wines being produced are now up there with the region’s very best.
