2018 Rully Blanc, Domaine Dureuil-Janthial

This is a benchmark example from one of the most exciting producers in the Côte Chalonnaise. The concentration is staggering. The nose has that struck-match reduction everyone seems to be chasing in Burgundy but only a few capture with this much style. And the palate is packed with flavours of Amalfi lemon, and golden shortcrust pastry. Weighty and vibrant.

2018 Rully Blanc, Domaine Dureuil-Janthial
Domaine Dureuil-Janthial

“If I see his name on a wine list, I don't give it a second thought and simply order his wine” - Jean-François Coche. This is high praise indeed, even if Vincent Dureuil-Janthial is widely regarded as the Côte Chalonnaise’s preeminent winemaker. The organic 20 hectare domaine in Rully is a rare find, too, in that it produces both reds and whites of equally outstanding quality. Vincent is as celebrated by the critics as by his peers, and the domaine is building a serious, and well-deserved following.
