2017 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Domaine de Montille

Easternmost part of the Corton Charlemagne vineyard. No afternoon sun. Cool fruit, with excellent structure, impressive density and serious energy, there’s a nerve behind it. Impressive power and length, and finesse, too.

Domaine de Montille

Charismatic Etienne de Montille has stewarded the family domaine since taking responsibility in 1995. With an enviable selection of vineyards, careful winemaking with the use of whole bunch altered to suit the vintage, and sensitive élévage, it’s no surprise that this estate continues to rise towards the top. With a cellar overseen by the talented, affable American Brian Sieve and his own son joining the family business, Etienne is doing all the right things to ensure the wines thrive.
